Day One

Day One is a perfect introduction to PVsyst for new and experienced users.

Stephen begins the training with Solar 101, a brief overview of where the solar the industry is today in order to create the context for understanding PVsyst in the modern solar market.

This sets the stage for trainees to begin thinking about how they can harness the power of the PVsyst software to not only achieve short-term goals but also contribute to the further growth and development of the PV solar industry.

Once this foundation is laid, Stephen covers all of the primary functions in PVsyst and provides step-by-step instruction on how to model various types of projects using real world case studies from our project portfolio and scenarios provided by students.

PVsyst Simulation Process

Understand the step-by-step PVsyst utilizes to generate solar power generation including climate, irradiance, orientation and system components.

At the end of this section, you will be able to identify the sequence of steps PVsyst takes to determine a project's energy output.

Build Up a Simulation

Learn to build, store and use a PVsyst power performance estimate in PVsyst software.

At the end of this section, you will be able to modify/set-up PVsyst program for future power simulations, develop in-house knowledge of PVsyst, and set up projects for easy plug and chug work.

Learn Quick and Easy Shading Analysis

Learn how to make sure shading is considered in your power simulation via 2 methods - quick/easy and detailed.

At the end of this section, you will be able to assess shading losses for each project they simulate.

Custom Engineering

Learn to properly manipulate System Tab to maximize system output.

At the end of this section, you will be able to use custom options within Detailed Losses tab to maximize performance.

Simulating Loss Factors

Learn to properly manipulate System Tab to maximize system output.

At the end of this section, you will be able to use custom options within Detailed Losses tab to maximize performance.

RFP Responses

Learn to produce various targeted PVsyst reports for use in RFP responses.

At the end of this section, you will be able to produce PVsyst reports for RFP responses, analysis and other uses.

8760 Spreadsheets

Learn how to generate 8760 spreadsheets from PVsyst simulations. Use PVsyst options to generate a 8760 hour power output spreadsheet.

At the end of this section, you will be able to provide insight as to hourly production of energy from a project.

Wrapping Up

Review best practices when using PVsyst.

At the end of this section, you will be able to set up consistent performance modeling parameters in PVsyst and generate performance simulations.
